How to Submit a Feature Request In Yao Support

At Yao, we believe the best legal practice management software is built in partnership with the lawyers and staff who use it every day. Your feedback is vital! Here is how you can submit ideas for new features, report bugs, and track what's coming next on the Yao Roadmap.

How to Access the Feature Request Board

  1. Navigate to the Yao Support main page.

  2. Scroll down to the Community section.

  3. Click on the Community Heading.

How to View, Vote, and Submit

Once on the Community page, you can interact with the community:

  1. Vote on Existing Ideas

  • Browse the existing list of feature requests.

  • If you see an idea you like, click the Upvote button next to it. Higher-voted requests help us prioritise development.

  1. Submit a New Idea

    • Click the Create Request button in the top right corner.

    • From the dropdown menu, you can select one of three options:

  1. Feature Request: Use this to share a completely new idea for a product improvement or functionality you would like to see in Yao.

  2. Bug Report: Use this to inform the Yao Team about a specific error or unexpected behaviour you have encountered in the system.

  3. Roadmap: Use this to directly add an idea or plan to the public-facing roadmap for consideration and discussion.

Completing a Submission

You will be taken to a form where you can provide all the necessary details

  1. Title: A concise, descriptive name for your feature idea (e.g., "Automated Client ID Verification").

  2. Description: A detailed explanation of the feature and, crucially, how it would benefit your firm and workflow (e.g., "This feature would save time during client onboarding by...").

  3. Category: Select the area of Yao that your request relates to (e.g., Invoicing, Matters, Workflow, Accounting).

  4. Files: You can drag and drop or upload supporting files, like a screen recording or a document, to clearly illustrate your request.

  5. Click Blue Button to finalise your submission.
